PS5 Sales Figures Overtake Popular Nintendo Console
The latest sales figures according to VGChartz shows that the Sony PlayStation 5 has currently outsold one of the most popular Nintendo consoles.

The latest lifetime sales figures for Sony’s PlayStation 5 have just overtaken one of the most popular Nintendo consoles of all time.
Even with the manufacturing issues and less than ideal production restrictions on the PlayStation 5 – it is reported VGChartz.

Breaking down sales by region, the PS5 has sold an estimated 8.69 million units in North America, 7.88 million units in Europe, 1.81 million units in Japan, and 3.45 million units in the rest of the world.
This compared to the GameCube, which sold 12.55 million units in North America, 4.44 million units in Europe, 4.04 million units in Japan, and 0.71 million units in the rest of the world.

Congratulations to Sony, we’re sure those statistics will prove very interesting given the restrictions of production for that console right now.
Why do you think Sony has sold so many systems to date? Exclusive games? Better hardware? Fancier marketing? Let us know in the comments below.
Have the PS2 sales been beaten? Will they ever be beaten?
The lifecycle of the PS2 was insanely long – so who knows if Sony want to even replicate that?
