It has been reported that Microsoft paid in excess of $100M for full exclusivity of Lara’s second adventure Rise of the Tomb Raider.
According to Twitter user Timur222, the report shows that a LinkedIn profile having information about this deal has come to light. The former ‘Strategic Planning and Corporate Planning Director’ of Square Enix, Fabien Rossini claims on his profile, that Rise of the Tomb Raider has a deal costing $100m.
Claiming that he was working directly with the CEO in a senior leadership role, he was responsible for the company’s game portfolio and corporate strategy – building strategic partnerships with first parties which included negotiating this ludicrous deal with Microsoft.

It sounds like an extraordinary amount of money for a deal such as this. Especially when you consider that the entire development of Shadow of the Tomb Raider reportedly cost $75-100m, according to David Anfossi, the boss of Eidos Montreal.
