Gamescom 2021 ‘Opening Night Live’ – Announcements, Trailers And Everything Else
Gamescom 2021 opened up with a plethora of new games, announcements and trailers.

Gamescom 2021 opened up with a plethora of new games, announcements and trailers. We got some world premiers and we got information on games already announced in previous gaming events throughout last year.

But here we go, first up:
Big Announcements
Halo Infinite (Multiplayer & Campaign releasing December 8th, 2021)
Strangely, Halo Infinite was missing from the big Xbox showcase recently but it appears it was all in aid of revealing more information about game during Opening Night Live.
We got a bunch of new information surrounding the game such as a release date (December 8th) as well as a fancy intro cinematic (see above) which provides context to the first season of the multiplayer.
We also got a look at some upcoming accessories such as the brand new limited edition Halo Infinite Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.

Also, to commemorate 20 Years of Halo, we got a glimpse of the brand new limited Edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X console.
Saints Row (coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on February 25th, 2022)
It’s been a while since we’ve see a new Saints Row, 6 years to be precise. However, we are getting a new reboot of Saints Row.
Deep Silver and Volition are seeking to rectify recent lack lustre Saints Row titles with this announcement. Apparently, Saints Row seeks to take the game back to it’s roots – a more ‘chaotic experience’ than what you might find in something like Grand Theft Auto.
Saints Row will be releasing on all major consoles and PC on February 25th 2022.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns (releasing March, 2022)
Seemingly, the recent announcement of a new Guardians of the Galaxy game wasn’t enough for Marvel. With the catastrophic failure of Marvel’s Avengers, it was a brave decision to give us another new IP, with Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
An all-new game from Fraxis (creators of XCOM), which explores the story of a brand new customisable character. Supposedly, this is a ‘tactical RPG’ but no gameplay was revealed or confirmed surrounding the final product so we don’t actually know with certainty, that is the case.
The game features a large cast of superhero’s such as Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Blade, Dr. Strange and more…

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be releasing “sometime in March, 2022”.
Horizon Forbidden West (game delayed until February 18th, 2022)
One of the most anticipated PlayStation exclusive video games for 2021, Horizon Forbidden West – it was revealed that the game would be delayed until February 18th 2022, with pre-orders available from September 2nd, 2021.
Naturally, this delay will provide the necessary time for Guerrilla Games to fine tune the game – but all is not bad news.
The latest patch to Horizon Zero Dawn (version 1.53), now unlocks the frame rate to 60 fps for PS5.
Death Stranding Directors Cut (releasing September 24th, 2021)
We got some more information surrounding Kojima’s latest social lesson, Death Stranding and the recently announced ‘Directors Cut’.
This all new update will feature a ton of new content, quality-of-life improvements and more.
The trailer below will cover all the additional details as there appears to be a heck of a lot. Anyway, there should be more then enough content to persuade you to re-play or try the game on September 24th, 2021 when it releases.
Call of Duty: Vanguard (releasing November 5th, 2021)
A new Call of Duty happens every year, and this year it brings us Vanguard.
Explaining what they are doing to differentiate themselves this year, Activision showed just under 10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay footage from its single-player campaign.
Vanguard revisits World War II, an ever popular moment for other FPS titles – but now from a new perspective, focusing on large-scale battles.
Call of Duty: Vanguard releases November 5th, 2021.
